The hollow places in our life
But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof Enhakkore, which isin Lehi unto this day. Judges 15:18
Samson was THIRSTY! God quenched that thirst. God made a way. God is just as worried about our spiritual health as He is our physical and He makes a way. He is the way. He is the fountain of living waters.
For with Thee is the fountain of life; in Thy light shall we see light. Psalm 36:9
He said all those who hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be filled. He is the living bread and living water and that’s what He is and compares Himself to. He said that we shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes out of His mouth. He is food.
Here’s the thing. Samson had a need. A great need that would defeat him eventually and soon if not met or take care of. He couldn’t do it himself or he would so he called on God. There was no water to be found. We also see David compare as a deer pants for water so his soul thirst for God. If only we’d be as thirsty and desperate for a spiritual fill.
This reminds me of Elijah’s brook drying up so he could meet a woman who was running out of food and God used them both to meet each other’s provision and need. It also reminds me of Elijah when he had just won a great battle to just run from a woman and God told him to just eat. And one more is when
We aren’t always supposed to meet our own needs or we wouldn’t need God but we do because He is God and we are not, where we run out, we run into Him. He is provision and food. He’s our supernatural provision, power and strength. His grace is enough and He has a way when we know no way.
God made a way in a hollow place. He opened up a hollow place or claved it out so that water GUSHED OUT. He didn’t let him die this way. Like the time He told His people to dig ditches and don’t worry about where the rain would come from but that it would come. It’s like Him saying just obey. Elijah go to this woman and though it made no sense for her to give away her last me, she did and God supernaturally filled the vases with so much oil she couldn’t hold it all, like the water to wine first miracle Jesus performed. He don’t just make any water, He parts seas. He’s exceedingly abundantly !!! The water came from the least likely place. God wants us revived. He does not want us to stay dry spiritually just as much as He doesn’t physically! Because here’s the deal, we might not see it like our physical bht spiritually we’re dying inside if not living and revived!
You who seek GOD “REQUIRING” HIM as YOUR GREATEST NEED, let your heart REVIVE AND LIVE. We need a reviving a refreshing a restricting and resurrection. He makes a way.
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus.
Acts 3:19-20
Like Elijah and Samson God doesn’t want you to die spiritually but to BE REVIVED AND LIVE AGAIN so whatever is blocking you, repent! He didn’t bring you this far to leave you now. Cry out to Him.
He used a donkey and a rock, He can use any matter He wants to to help you. Cry out it Jesus. Keep your Heart with all diligence for everything you do springs forth out of it. The heart is the real matter of everything so guard it. What is in your heart? What have you allowed in to rule?
A lot of samson’s battles was because of his own neglect to guard his heart and a result of his own sin, yet God ultimately still fulfilled His purpose in the pain - He hears our battle cry. If we depend on self, then we’d never need Him. If He doesn’t give us a need and a slightest need at that, then our greatest dependencies won’t be on Him and we sure can’t solve it ourselves and if we win and think it’s us and we don’t need Him, we’re sadly And gravely mistaken and will lead to our biggest compromise and demise in the end so He loves us too much to not simply a need and a solution that ONLY HE CAN DO.
That’s why He clave a hollow place in the very unlikely place. He can use anyone and anything around you. He makes a way in the wilderness where there seems to be no way out and springs right in the very desert in the most unlikely place to show He is God, He is not only resourceful- His love mercy kindness and power to provide never runs dry . MY GOD IS MIGHTY TO SAVE.
